Smart Hospitals

As enterprises across industries are starting a digital transformation journey, medical facilities are also transforming with new technological solutions.

Smart hospital concept is optimization and automation of processes in the information-communication and technological environment of interrelated objects which is sooner becoming a reality because it will help in the reduction of healthcare costs, reduce risks, and boost patient satisfaction.

For this new technological environment, a huge amount of data, cloud computing services, machine learning methods, and artificial intelligence solutions will be combined. With Smart Hospitals, the ongoing procedure of medical care will get improve with advanced means of medical care and open up doors for new opportunities for medicine.

With Smart Hospital software, healthcare facilities earn benefits, like

1-    Smart hospital applications can help patients and visiting or temporary physicians and staff to find a way in the hospital.

2-    By engaging in smart hospital room features (for example, via touch-screen monitors or tablets) patients and their families can enhance their experience and thus improve the patient-doctor relationship.

3-    Leveraging mobile and IoT technologies allow effectively and time to time patients communicate with their care providers thereby enhancing their satisfaction.

4-    Smart devices like wearables and smartphones track biometric data large volumes which can be used by healthcare providers find out more about both individual patients and populations

Though the smart hospital concept seems more promising, there are also some challenges-

1-    The industry has a lack of ability in deploying IoT solutions( Capability of applying complex algorithms and analyzing the data of patients)

2-    All medical personnel would be trained to use smart techniques and devices effectively to support their work and ensure semi-automated managing of data flow.

3-    Becoming “smart” can involve various steps: Smart techniques can be taken into action one by one, It can’t be done in a single step.

4-    Interoperability and cybersecurity are a key challenge as hospital devices, systems and networks must interact to each other in such a manner that allows the analysis of the data & that data will be secure and unreachable for hackers.

To ensure that healthcare facility remains affordable to patients, it needs to rethink how that healthcare is delivered. Improvement must be taken into practice in the processes of care during recovery after procedures and during after-care of appointments will need to be addressed to reduce costs.

No doubt, Smart Hospitals will be going to have a major impact on global healthcare systems. Hospital expense accounts for the largest share of healthcare expenditures, and as economies will struggle to lower overall expenses on health, smart hospitals will pave the way to achieve that target. To fulfill the trend of consumerization in healthcare, smart hospitals will play a patient-centric approach to ensure the patient experience is optimal, allowing for better revenue generation.

Now, Many hospitals are already on their way to transform their technology of healthcare delivery as for becoming Smart Hospitals with the latest technology and where everything and everyone is linked and connected.
